President’s Report from 2016 AGM

2016 was a challenging year for NZOUG, transforming events such as our National Conference (every 18 months) to our newly formed annual OTN Days running at two different locations (Wellington and Auckland) within the annual APAC OTN Tour in the region. Also, during 2016 the meetup events in the country were very active bringing awareness regarding NZOUG to local professionals around the country.

As a consequence, I can simply say that 2016 was our year of awareness so it is time to make 2017 our growth year. The goal for 2017 is to increase our membership numbers by 30%, and for this to happen NZOUG will be working hard to improve our member’s benefits with initiatives such as virtual conferences (ANZ Webinar Tour) that will bring a huge number of content to our members that could be accessed on demand any time, any day. We, the committee are working hard on this concept to ensure that each of the members are able to achieve the best ROI from their membership, as such your participation and collaboration is always important, so feel free to submit your comments and suggestions regarding this matter at any time via our web page contact form (http://nzoug.org/contact).

Other initiatives that our committee team is currently working in, is with regards to consolidating relationships with sponsors and other User Groups and this will help us to make NZOUG stronger than ever.

Thank you so much for your continuous support and trust. Your participation is the key foundation to make NZOUG a strong community. Remember that NZOUG is a voluntary organization from Oracle users to Oracle Users, so be active and help us to grow our community by supporting our goal of sharing knowledge and promoting networking in the region.

“Knowledge is only valuable if shared!”

Regards,

Francisco Munoz Alvarez
