NZ Post's goal is to have quality address data services. The National Postal Address Database (NPAD) is the single source of accurate address data, however updating alternative address nformation in a timely manner can be a complex database task. Application Express was utilised to create NPAD Data Attributes Maintenance (NDAM). This is integrated with the NZPOST business directory and updates data in real time. The implementation has drastically reduced resource requirements and provides improved control over quality. What a time saver, want to know more? Application Express has also been used, quickly and effectively to develop an application for users (proto-typing) while the production application is still being built. Movers Address Listing Tool (MALT) application is this proto-type. The MALT application provides a web based interface allowing internal users to interact and query database information to provide an accurate list of people and addresses according to the criteria required by NZ Post customers.
